Humanity becomes alarmed
![]()
This second part will be devoted to the current and future impacts of four main fields: water, ecosystems, food and health. Spectacular sets will symbolise the possible disasters in the long-term and will highlight the interactions of climate changes with other problems they accentuate.

Water
Climate change will affect the populations with a reduction of the water stored in glaciers and the mountains’ snow and by a possible reduction of lowest water levels, with the nightmarish prospect of a sudden disintegration of icecaps. A lack of drinking water and the salination of underground water and of estuaries, violent rainfalls and water pollution. So many problems which will have consequences in the domain of feeding the world.

Food
Lost of farmlands, a fall in crop and pasture land yields , an increase of drought periods, the exhausting of aquifers, difficulties for farmers practicing subsistence farming and for fishermen, famine, fires…the risks increase because of the climate change.

The ecosystems
Climate change makes the lost of biodiversity worse: the extinction of species, threats to plankton because of the oceans’ acidification, whitening and death of coral reefs, changes to the areas shared by species , uncontrolled fires, and the migration of populations…

The health
Malnutrition, diarrhoea, cardio-respiratory and infectious diseases, death due to heat and drought, migration of some pathogenic vectors and the deterioration of air quality will be the direct and indirect consequences of the climate change.
